Breakout
Breakout spaces often form the heart of the office and a well designed breakout area will improve wellbeing and productivity. Whether we are in the office every day or hybrid workers, a large part of coming to the office is community and most of us expect to interact over a coffee or lunch. Social areas are usually filled with café tables, seats and benches, bar stools as well as lounge chairs and sofas.
The design concept is likely to be as important here as it is in your reception area. Café furniture is often designed for impact and a short stay, but we might specify breakout furniture to ensure a well-used space throughout the day. Space can be zoned for function with sofas and banquette seating, which also work very well as informal meeting spaces, and they can be specified with spill-proof fabrics to ensure longevity.
